33rd Annual Veteran of the Year Awards

Each year there is an awards banquet to honor the new recipients. Since its inception in 1991, over 200 veterans have been recognized.

The purpose of this award is to recognize our County’s outstanding Veterans, and their past or current volunteer contributions to our community. See nomination requirements and survey link below.

MONTEREY COUNTY VETERAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS PROGRAM

The Monterey County Military & Veterans Affairs Advisory Commission established the Veterans of the Year Program in 1991. Recipients must have served honorably in and been discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States under those conditions as outlined by both Federal and State Law. They must reside in Monterey County and they must perform their service to the community in a volunteer status. The service recognized may, but is not required to, support other veterans. Service of many different types for the benefit of any residents of Monterey County is considered worthy of consideration for recognition.
