VETERAN of the YEAR:Monterey County
MONTEREY COUNTY VETERAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS PROGRAM The Monterey County Military & Veterans Affairs Advisory Commission established the Veterans of the Year Program in 1991. Recipients must have served honorably in and been discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States under those conditions as outlined by both Federal and State Law. They must reside in Monterey County and they must perform their service to the community in a volunteer status. The service recognized may, but is not required to, support other veterans. Service of many different types for the benefit of any residents of Monterey County is considered worthy of consideration for recognition. Each year there is an awards banquet to honor the new recipients. The banquet will be held on 6 November 2020 at the Bayonet Black Horse Golf Club, 1 McClure Way, Seaside, CA 93955. Since its inception in 1991, over 200 veterans have been recognized. Applications and instructions for Veteran of the Year are here and must be submitted no later than 30 June 2020 to be considered.
